

Yellow gold ring, adorned with a cameo on agate representing three male profiles probably Italian poets ( Giovan Battista Marino, Ludovico Ariosto, Dante Alighieri).
The first full face profile, from the left, is probably Giovan Battista Marino. He was born in Naples on the 14th of October 1569 and died in 162. He is famous for his epic L'adone.
The second profile, in brownish color agate is Ludovico Ariosto, an Italian poet (1474-1533) particularly known for his masterpiece Orlando Furioso.
The last profile, on the bottom is Dante Alighieri: he was an Italian poet, writer, and philosopher. He was bron in Florence in 1265 and died in 1321. His masterpiece La Divina Commedia is considered one of the most important poems of the Middle Ages. Dante, Petrarch and Boccaccio are also called the tre corone ("three crowns") of Italian literature.
